The Kano State Government, through Acting Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Hon. Hamza Safiyanu Kachako, has issued a three-game ultimatum to Kano Pillars Football Club’s management and technical crew to reverse their poor form in the ongoing 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The ultimatum follows a string of disappointing results, including a 2-1 defeat against Bendel Insurance, a 1-2 home loss to Shooting Stars, and a 5-0 defeat against Enyimba International.
Hon. Kachako emphasized the state government’s commitment to supporting Kano Pillars, under the leadership of His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, but stressed that decisive action is needed to turn things around. The team must secure maximum points in their next three games, starting with the match against Gombe United on April 21, followed by an away fixture against Akwa United and a home encounter against Doma United.

Currently seventh on the Nigeria Premier Football League table with 41 points from 30 matches, Kano Pillars must rejuvenate their season with crucial wins in the upcoming fixtures.
The Ministry of Sports, led by Hon. Kachako, has allocated necessary funds for Kano Pillars FC to complete their remaining matches, with the approval of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. This support demonstrates the state government’s commitment to advancing sports in Kano.
