The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Hadiza Abdulwahab, paid an advocacy visit to the Emir of Hadejia at his palace.
Accompanied by her entourage, the commissioner sought to solicit the cooperation of the royal fathers in registering the names of elderly persons, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups in every ward within the Jigawa State emirates.
According to Hajiya Hadiza, the exercise aligns with the Jigawa State government’s policies and programs aimed at inclusion and improving the welfare of physically challenged persons in society.
She noted that the state government had earlier increased the monthly allowance for physically challenged persons from N7,000 to N10,000 each for all registered beneficiaries.

The commissioner explained that the exercise will take place in all 27 local government areas of the state, enumerating beneficiaries who will receive monthly stipends under the leadership of Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi.
In response, the Emir of Hadejia, Chairman of the Jigawa State Council of Chiefs, Dr. Adamu Abubakar Maje Haruna (CON), urged the Honourable commissioner and her entourage to involve traditional institutions at the ward level to assist in identifying and registering the genuinely needy.
He pledged his maximum support and cooperation for the success of the exercise in Hadejia and Jigawa State at large.”
