The Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA, was among the lead panelists at the opening session of the Nigeria Governors Symposium organized by the United States Peace Institute (USIP) in Washington DC.
The statement by Amb. Muhammad Salisu Seeker Dutse, SSA Students Affairs to Jigawa State Governor said the session, themed “Drivers of Insecurity and Opportunities for Stabilization,” aimed to deepen understanding of security challenges, including their socio-economic dimensions, and identify near-term opportunities for addressing drivers of instability.
Governor Namadi shared Jigawa State’s peaceful situation experience and the efforts his government is making to fight insecurity, which has earned the state recognition as one of the best in facing insecurity challenges.
Other panel members included the Governors of Katsina, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Niger States.
The symposium provides a platform for governors to share experiences and best practices in addressing insecurity and promoting peace and stability in their respective states.
