SEMA Organizes Meeting with LG Chairmen for Equitable Distribution of Palliatives”

Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency Ensures Fair Share for All in National Strategy Reserve Donations”

In a bid to ensure the equal distribution of palliatives donated by the National Strategy Reserve (NSR), the Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) organized a meeting with 27 local government chairmen on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. 

The meeting, held at the state secretariat complex in Dutse, aimed to enlighten the LGA chairmen on the distribution strategy set by the federal government.

Representing the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Dr. Haruna Mairiga, Ambassador Muhammad Bala Garingabas, Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, commended Governor Malam Umar A Namadi FCA for his tireless efforts in ensuring a normal living condition for all in the state despite current hardships.

Garingabas emphasized that the palliative is for everyone, not just orphans or those in extreme poverty.

Hon. Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Danladi Sankara, urged the local government chairmen to have faith in the distribution process, which includes allocating 3% to boarding schools in each LGA and percentages to Imams and other categories.

ALGON Chairman and Jahun Local Government Area Chairman, Hon. Ado Mai’unguwa Aujara, charged the chairmen to be just during distribution, as representatives from SEMA and other groups will be present to ensure fairness.

This meeting demonstrates SEMA’s commitment to transparency and fairness in distributing vital resources, ensuring that everyone in Jigawa State benefits from the National Strategy Reserve’s donations.
