JIGAWA: ICAN Dutse & District Society Elects New Executives

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Dutse & District Society, has elected a new team of executives to lead the district for the 2024/2025 term. 

The election took place during the 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the District’s Office in Dutse, Jigawa State.

The newly elected executives include: Sani Ahmad Sulaiman, FCA, as Chairman, Umar Dauda, FCA, as Vice Chairman, Umar Idris Abdullahi, ACA, as General Secretary, Musbahu Inuwa Adam, ACA, as Treasurer, Fatima Mustapha Gana, ACA, as Financial Secretary, Nasiru Sabo Idris, FCA, as Technical Secretary, Fatima Buba Aliyu, ACA, as Social/Publicity Secretary and Surajo Muhammad Abdulwahab, ACA, as Assistant General Secretary

The Jigawa State Auditor General and Past Chairman of ICAN Kano/Jigawa District Society, Dr. Garba Muhammad Dutse, FCA, inaugurated the new executives on behalf of the 59th National President of the Institute, Dr. Innocent Iweka Okwuosa, FCA. Dr. Dutse charged the new executives to work hard to take the district to greater heights.

In his remarks, the Immediate Past Chairman, Mal Umar Farouk Gambo, FCA, thanked members and the outgoing executives for their cooperation during his tenure. 

He also expressed gratitude to the Jigawa State Government for appointing ICAN members as Accountant General and Executive Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service.

The incoming Chairman, Sani Ahmad Sulaiman, FCA, expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of the election and called on members to work together to achieve great things. 

He emphasized that with a one-year tenure, every member’s effort is crucial to making a meaningful impact.

This development marks a new chapter for ICAN Dutse & District Society, and the new executives are expected to build on the achievements of their predecessors to promote the interests of chartered accountants in the region.
