In a ground breaking initiative aimed at amplifying the voices of women and girls in the community, Jigawa State has gotten 25 appointment  of dedicated advocates as Peace Ambassadors. 

This significant development is a collaborative effort between the United Nations, the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), and Nigeria.

The newly appointed Peace Ambassadors are committed to promoting peace, gender equality, and community well-being. 

Their role extends beyond mere representation; they will actively engage in initiatives that uplift women and girls, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights protected.

Under the leadership of Ambassador Maryam Shariff Mukhtar, the Regional Coordinator for Girls/Women Speaks Ambassadors, these remarkable individuals have been entrusted with the responsibility of fostering positive change:

The official appointment ceremony took place at the prestigious Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) in Abuja. Notably, the wife of the Jigawa State Governor  Hajiya Hadiza Namadi was also recognized for her unwavering support for gender equality and peace building.
