The Jigawa State House of Assembly has marked a significant milestone, holding over 180 sittings in the last year and passing 19 laws and 27 resolutions.

Speaking at a press conference, Speaker Rt. Honourable Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin highlighted the assembly’s achievements, emphasizing their commitment to synergy with the executive, judiciary, and media for the betterment of Jigawa citizens and sustainable democratic development.

The assembly’s oversight functions ensured public accountability, and the passed laws supported Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s 12-point agenda for a prosperous Jigawa. 

Notable laws passed include the establishment of a state polytechnic, basic health insurance scheme, and senior secondary school board.

The speaker assured the people of Jigawa that the assembly remains committed to working within its constitutional jurisdiction for peace, unity, and progress in the state.
