A cohort of media professionals has gathered in Lagos for the National Broadcast Academy’s 2024 Basic Journalism course, aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge in the field.
In his opening remarks, the Director General of the academy, Mr. Danladi S. Kwache, urged participants to take full advantage of the six-week course by paying close attention to the facilitators and acquiring new skills to enhance their professional experience. He also encouraged them to serve as ambassadors for their respective media organizations and states.
Mr. Danladi assured the participants of the academy’s commitment to providing necessary support and assistance throughout their stay.

Batch B Journalism class leader, Mrs. Marry Madaki, pledged to work tirelessly towards the success of her fellow participants, fostering trust and synergy between management and participants for a productive engagement. She emphasized the importance of adhering to the academy’s rules and regulations for a successful and fruitful experience.
The course will cover essential topics such as news elements, communication techniques, mass media functions, English usage, and error analysis.
The participants, representing various media organizations, including print, broadcast, electronic, and online outlets, also elected their representatives: Marry Madaki as Chairman, Yusuf Bukar as Vice Chairman, and Earnest Obi as Public Relations Officer (PRO).
This training initiative reflects the academy’s dedication to promoting excellence in journalism and supporting the growth of media professionals in Nigeria.
