Governor Umar Namadi has inaugurated a ten-man steering committee to oversee the implementation of the Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) project in Jigawa State.
The committee’s terms of reference include reviewing and approving the project work plan, conducting quarterly review meetings, monitoring implementation, and ensuring prudent resource utilization.

The Governor urged the committee members to work diligently to achieve the project’s goals, benefiting the state’s children. Dr. Abdullahi Muhammad Kainuwa, Chairman of the committee and Commissioner of Health, acknowledged the project’s aim to address high maternal and mortality rates by 2030.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor for the honor and privilege, noting Jigawa State’s selection as one of 12 pilot states due to its impressive routine immunization performance and the Governor’s commitment of $100,000 counter fund to the project.
The members of the committee Hon.commioner of Health as chairman, other member Hon, commissioner of finance, Hon commissioner of budget and Economic planning, Hon commissioner of women Affair,ES primary health care, EsJIGMA, Accountant General, Representative of the Donor partners and project Coordinator as Secretary of the Committee.
The IMPACT project aims to address malaria control, immunization plus, knowledge change, and contingent emergency response. The committee assures its commitment to fulfilling the project’s components, as outlined in the terms of reference.
This collaboration demonstrates Jigawa State’s dedication to enhancing the health and wellbeing of its children, aligning with global efforts to improve human capital.
