The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Jigawa State, has urged promoters of the proposed nationwide protests to consider dialogue and negotiation instead of resorting to protests.
While acknowledging the fundamental human right to protest in a democratic system, State Director Mallam Ahmad Tijjani Ibrahim cautioned that past experiences have shown that protests often result in wanton destruction of lives and property.

The NOA Director acknowledged that the country is facing challenging times, particularly in terms of economy and security. However, he emphasized that the government is engaging stakeholders at various levels to alleviate citizens’ suffering.
“We have seen in the past how unscrupulous elements have hijacked peaceful protests, leading to chaos and destruction,” Ibrahim said. “We appeal to protesters to thread the path of dialogue and peace, and work with the government to find solutions to our national challenges.”
The NOA’s appeal comes as the government makes deliberate efforts to address the current economic and security challenges facing the nation.
