The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa State Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Usaini Magaji, for allegedly raping a 7-year-old girl in Katau Dawa Village, Kaugama LGA.
According to ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, CDPRO, the suspect was arrested on September 8, 2024, following a complaint lodged by the victim’s father. The victim reported that the suspect threatened her with a knife and had canal knowledge of her in a nearby farm.
Medical examinations conducted at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Dutse General Hospital confirmed recent penetration, breakage of hymen, and bruises around the vaginal area.
The suspect has confessed to the crime and will be charged to court after investigations are concluded. The NSCDC has assured that justice will be served in the case.
This arrest highlights the commitment of the NSCDC to protecting vulnerable members of society, especially children, from sexual abuse and violence.
