Police Arrests 22 Suspects for Vandalism and Rescues Kidnapped Victim in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of 22 suspects in connection with armed robbery, vandalism, cattle rustling, and other heinous crimes across the state. The suspects, who were arrested in various locations, include Umar Haruna, Nura Musa, Mustapha Ado, and 19 others.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the suspects were arrested following a series of investigations and intelligence gathering by the police. “The suspects were found to be in possession of various items, including motorcycles, copper wire, animals, and other stolen goods,” Adam said.

During the investigation, the police recovered several items from the suspects, including: Two motorcycles, Copper wire, Animals (cow, ram, sheep), 600 battery cells, Cell phones, Laptop, Ceiling fans, Saw, spanner, digger, hoe, and scissor. 

When interrogated, the suspects confessed to the crime. They will be charged to court for prosecution. “The suspects will face the full wrath of the law for their crimes,” Adam said.

In a separate incident, the police received a distress call about the kidnapping of Alhassan Audu, a resident of Tudun Ghana Quarters, Malam madori LGA. The police promptly responded to the call, engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel, and rescued the victim unharmed. Efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing culprits.

“The police are committed to protecting the lives and properties of citizens in Jigawa State,” Adam said. “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the state is safe and secure for all.”

The Jigawa State Police Command has urged citizens to report any suspicious activities or crimes to the police. “We rely on the support and cooperation of citizens to combat crime and maintain law and order in the state,” Adam said.
