The Jigawa State Police Command has made significant strides in fighting crime and ensuring safety under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad. In a series of coordinated intelligence-driven operations and rigorous patrols, the command has recorded notable achievements in its efforts to restore peace and security in the state.
The command has apprehended suspected drug barons, tricycle and motorcycle thieves, vandals, and burglars. Additionally, 212 individuals suspected of looting and vandalizing public properties during the #EndBadGovernance protest were arrested, with 74 already charged and taken to court. These arrests demonstrate the command’s commitment to holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
The police have made significant recoveries, including 5,283 pieces of illicit drugs seized, tricycles, motorcycles, vandalized cable wire, Android handsets, marijuana, and dangerous weapons. Other items recovered include 50 motorcycles, 3 tricycles, 12 bicycles, 9 chairs, 303 bags of fertilizer, 54 cartons of mosquito nets, two bags of rice, and office furniture. These recoveries are a testament to the command’s proactive approach and effective intelligence gathering.
