Jigawa Students Excel in Inter-State Spelling Bee Competition in Abuja

In a remarkable display of academic excellence, students from Jigawa State have emerged victorious in the recent inter-state spelling bee competition held in Abuja on December 20, 2024.
This achievement is a testament to the state’s commitment to educational excellence, supported by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi and the Ministry of Basic Education.
The winning team comprised three exceptional students; Almustapha Inuwa Dutse from Dutse Capital School, Shidaya Sani from Model Boarding Primary School (MBPS) Gumel, and Fevour Onnen from Dutse Capital School.
The team was led by Magaji Ibrahim, Deputy Director, School Ministry of Basic Education Jigawa state. Under his guidance, the students demonstrated outstanding English language proficiency and vocabulary skills.

The competition saw participation from five schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Jigawa State. The objective of the competition was to enhance English language proficiency and vocabulary among pupils.
The winning team received accolades from Mal Ahmad Abubakar, Chairman of the occasion, Mal Abdulkudus Kubuwa, and Mal Mustapha Ahmad, members of the panel of judges.
Magaji Ibrahim then encouraged the students to strive for excellence and represent the state in the Africa Spelling Bee competition in 2025.
This achievement showcases the dedication of Jigawa State’s educational institutions and the students’ hard work, paving the way for future successes.
