Kebbi State Government has send a high powered delegation to learn the positive pension policy of Jigawa State.
The Chairman, Kebbi State Contributory Pension Scheme, Right Honourable, Hassan Muhammad disclosed this when he led the delegation to the office of the Jigawa State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri on a one day study visit.
According to him, the visit concerned the pension scheme model adopted by Jigawa State, to learn the positive Pension policy of Jigawa State.
Right Honourable Hassan further explained that, Kebbi State wanted to borrow a leaf from Jigawa State using such model with a view to improving its pension scheme.

“His Excellency, Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris insisted that we have to come to Jigawa and see how they operate, because Kebbi State Contributory Pension Board have been there for almost ten or more years but it is not going anywhere. He asked us not go to anywhere just to come to Jigawa State, get their way of doing things, come to us with it, we will implement it” the Chairman said.
The Chairman used the opportunity to offered heartfelt condolences to Governor, Mallam Umar A. Namadi, on the passing on to eternity of his beloved mother and son, Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar and Abdulwahab Umar Namadi on behalf of the delegation.
Responding, the Jigawa State Head of Service Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri said the State contributory pensions scheme was initiated in 2001, going side by side with the public service pensions system being paid directly from Government revenues.
Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri commended the decision of the Kebbi Government to understudy Jigawa Pension Scheme, saying it is a step in the right direction which more States should emulate, as this would encourage knowledge sharing and better service delivery to the people.
