PLANE Organizes Capacity Building For JEAF Members on Resources Mobilization,

The Partnership for learning for all in Nigeria PLANE has Organized a capacity building for Jigawa Education Accountability Forum JEAF members on resources mobilization, advocacy, and evaluation.
The FCDO-PLANE program is providing critical support to Jigawa State’s accountability mechanisms through a comprehensive capacity building training initiative. This initiative focuses on empowering stakeholders with the skills and knowledge necessary to create and implement effective advocacy initiatives, as well as to monitor and track the education budget.
The 5-day training program which is helds in Tahir Guest Palace Kano, is designed to address the specific needs of stakeholders in Jigawa State, with a particular emphasis on building their capacity to advocate for improved education outcomes. Participants will learn how to develop and implement advocacy strategies, identify and engage key stakeholders, craft effective messaging and communication plans, and build coalitions and partnerships to drive meaningful change.
In addition to advocacy training, the program will also provide stakeholders with a deep understanding of the education budget process, including how to analyze budget documents, track budget execution, and identify areas for improvement. By equipping stakeholders with this knowledge, the program aims to promote transparency and accountability in the education sector, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support the state’s education goals.
Mr. Salisu Koki, the PLANE state reform facilatatir said the expected outcomes of this initiative are multifaceted. Firstly, stakeholders will have increased capacity to create and implement effective advocacy initiatives, driving positive change in the education sector. Secondly, stakeholders will have a deeper understanding of the education budget process, enabling them to hold duty-bearers accountable for resource allocation. Finally, the program aims to promote transparency and accountability in the education sector, ensuring that resources are used efficiently to support the state’s education goals.
Koki said the target beneficiaries of this initiative include state government officials, civil society organizations, community-based organizations, and education stakeholders. “By working together with these key stakeholders, the FCDO-PLANE program aims to drive meaningful change in Jigawa State’s education sector, ultimately improving education outcomes for all students”.
