The Jigawa state Police command have arrested a 25 year-old man in Basirka town Gwaram local government area of the state for sodomizing 12 minors.
DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Police Public Relations Officer in the state Police made this statement in Dutse after the arrest.
He said “on 26/11/2024 at about 0300hrs, a combine team of police and vigilante while on patrol at Kirdau village Ringim LGA, intercepted a suspicious volkswagon sharon green in color with reg no. KMC 28 ZR, driven by one Aminu Adamu ‘m’ 38yrs and one passenger all of Gezawa LGA of Kano state, loaded with three (3) cows and eleven (11) sheep”.

Shiisu said during the investigation, five (5) more suspects from Unguwa Uku in Kano state were apprehended.
He further said none of the suspects denied committing the alleged crime against them.
“That on 21/11/2024 at about 1700hrs, a complaint was received at Basirka Outstation that one Sani Abdullahi ‘m’ age 25yrs of Basirka town, Gwaram LGA, inticed one minor into his room and had carnal knowledge of him through his anus” According to the PPRO.
Adam said during an investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Dutse, the suspect confessed to the crime. He also state that he was persuaded to relocate from Zaria to his hometown Basirka for the same offence.
DSP Lawan stated that eleven (12) minors suspected of having been sodomized by the suspect were taken to Jigawa Sexual Assault Referral Center (SARC) Dutse for medical examination, where the doctor on duty confirmed that all twelve children had been penetrated through the anus.
He said all arrested suspects would be arraigned in court and face the full force of the law.
