Jigawa selected as pilot state to benefit ACReSAL-World Bank community Revolving fund

The World Bank under ACReSAL have choosing Jigawa state to be the first to pilot the implementation of community revolving fund (CRF). 

“The Community Revolving Fund initiatives as a loan investment represent a ground-breaking approach to addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing our agricultural business enterprises, in recognizing the critical role communities play in driving progress and fostering resilience in farming activities”. 

This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Dutse by the ACReSAL communication officer Zainab Baba Santali, in Dutse. 

The statement read: “It is with great pleasure and a sense of profound gratitude to Almighty Allah; I welcome all participants to Jigawa state for the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) mission. We are glad that out of the 8 CRF states, Jigawa is chosen to be the first to pilot the implementation of CRF”.

“This could be the result of Jigawa state having versed agribusiness enterprises and large-scale farming activities. As we embark on this mission, I am honored to shed light on the importance and impact of this endeavor” It added.

According to the statement, “the World Bank under Acresal led by our hardworking task team leader Dr Joy Iganya joined hands with the rest of the task team leaders to establish this innovative financial mechanism to improve the production capacity of our farmers”. 

One of the goals of CRF is to enhance community welfare and increase understanding and adoption of sustainable agricultural practices to increase output.

Since the inception of the endeavor, the Jigawa state Government under the leadership of His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi has provided all the necessary support to Jigawa ACRESAL to help fast-track the implementation of CRF across the two watersheds. 

The two watersheds namely Hadejia and Ringim have 10 communities each, out of which Dabi and Gamsarka communities were selected to pilot CRF implementation, with 10 Community interest groups (CIGs) selected under due diligence.

State coordinator Yahaya muhammad Uba said “today, as we are piloting the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) in Jigawa State, we are not just inaugurating a financial mechanism; but we are ushering in a new era of community-led development”.

“We are reaffirming our commitment to putting people at the center of development efforts and ensuring that no community is left behind” Uba stated. 

Lastly, he said “I would like to express my deepest gratitude Mr ASHTOUSH for always giving the necessary knowledge to move forward. My sincere appreciation also goes to the FPMU CRF CORE GROUP and my hardworking state core group”. 

“To our state stakeholders, the steering and technical committees we truly appreciate your guidance and support”.And to all the staff of the state project management unit, and the community leaders, who have contributed to the CRF exercise, your dedication and commitment have made this initiative a reality, and I do not doubt that together, we will make a profound and lasting impact on these communities” He stated.
