The 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State for their mandatory one year service, has been urged to deploy their intellect and resourcefulness in providing rural – oriented services for an equitable and more meaningful development.

The call was made by the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar A Namadi while presenting his address at the Swearing – In ceremony of the Corps Members on Tuesday 23rd April, 2024 at the General Yakubu Gowon Complex, NYSC Jigawa State Permanent orientation camp, Fanisau, Dutse.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy , Engnr . Aminu Usman further said that the bulk population of Jigawa citizens with pressing needs and aspirations are rural based and which if greater effort and attention are geared towards providing them with basic life requirements, government drive towards national integration, social development, security, a just and fair society could be achieved.

He then reminded them that as the intellectual and vibrant and youthful segment of our society, the country has a lot of expectations on them in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of its citizens for a better , peaceful and prosperous nation.

” As you commence your one year national service , you are therefore expected to be the agents of social change in our society. In a special way, you will be fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of a nation which placed a great premium on the moral and physical development of its youth for a better and greater tomorrow”. He added.

Thereafter, Namadi admonished the Corps Members to build on the evident achievements of their predecessors through initiating and executing impactful Community Development Projects in the State, as according to him such patriotic zeal is what sustained the noble NYSC scheme and preserve its prestige from its inception to date.

In his welcome remarks,the Coordinator, NYSC Jigawa State, Mr Jidda Dawut informed the Corps Members that the Orientation course is carefully designed to equip them for the task of the service year through lessons on Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, leadership training, Military and Paramilitary training as well as sensitization on topical national issues.

He then expressed his appreciation to the government and good people of Jigawa State for their continued support and cooperation towards successful implementation of NYSC operations in the State, where he described the level of the support as top notch which makes Corps Members deployed to the State comfortable and feels at home away from home.

At the event One thousand four hundreds and seventy three ( 1473 ) Prospective Corps Members were sworn in by the representative of the Jigawa State Chief Judge, Justice Amina Dahiru.
