In a bid to improve access to quality education and ease transportation challenges, Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has launched the distribution of bicycles, uniforms, books, and other learning materials to 30,000 pupils across the state.

The beneficiaries, selected from different communities in the 27 local government areas, are part of the Danmodi Student Care program under the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Affairs.

The program aims to identify and assist orphans, dropout, and vulnerable young girls and boys.

Governor Namadi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of education and providing equal opportunities to all.

He commended the efforts and sacrifices made by the committee in identifying the beneficiaries.

According to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Ambassador Salisu Muhd Seeker, the committee has identified approximately 1,000 pupils in each of the 27 local government areas, comprising both primary and junior secondary school students.

This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring that every child in Jigawa State has access to quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances.

The distribution of bicycles will also help alleviate transportation challenges, enabling students to get to school safely and on time.”
