Jigawa Councils Step Up Environmental Sanitation Efforts

Malam Madori and Kirikasamma Local Governments in Jigawa State have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing environmental healthcare services in their areas.

Following the successful completion of the end-of-the-month sanitation exercise, Ahmed Ibrahim, Head of the Water and Sanitation Department in Malam Madori, praised the collaboration between the sanitation exercise committee and local residents. He highlighted their efforts in evacuating drainages, clearing culverts, and sweeping away waste products along road sides.

Similarly, Muhammed Maisamari, Head of Water and Sanitation in Kirikasamma, led a team of stakeholders in eradicating waste products in schools, markets, and primary healthcare facilities.

The state environmental supervisor, Safiyanu Shehu Sakwaya, commended the exercise and expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their support.

Earlier, the Directors of Administration and General Services for Kirikasamma and Malam Madori, Idris Gambo and Tanimu Muhammad, respectively, praised Governor Umar Namadi for reviving the end-of-the-month sanitation exercise across the state.

This initiative demonstrates the local governments’ dedication to maintaining a clean and healthy environment for their communities
