The African Network for Anticorruption (ANA) has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its efforts in fighting corruption, while also demanding a thorough investigation into allegations against the Commandant General of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna on Monday, ANA President Muhammad Musbahu Basirka praised EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede for his achievements since assuming office.
However, the group condemned a failed protest attempt against the EFCC, allegedly sponsored by a former Governor and two former Ministers.

ANA also expressed concern over the alleged embezzlement of 6 billion Naira by the NSCDC Commandant General, calling for his immediate suspension and a thorough investigation.
The group gave the Federal Government a two-week ultimatum to take action, threatening a massive protest if their demands are not met.
“We will not allow corruption to thrive in Nigeria,” Basirka said. “We urge all Nigerians to join us in this fight against corruption and demand accountability from our leaders.”
The press conference was attended by civil society organizations and journalists, who showed their support for ANA’s stance against corruption. The group’s call for action comes as Nigeria continues to grapple with corruption issues in various sectors.
