Dr. Haruna Mairiga, Executive Secretary of the Jigawa state Emergency Management Agency (JSEMA), has expressed deep concern over the current situation in the country and urged Nigerians to exercise restraint and patience.

Mairiga warned against considering protest as an option, citing historical examples of how protests can lead to anarchy, chaos, destruction of properties, and division among citizens. He referenced the experiences of North African countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya, where protests spiralled out of control, resulting in political instability, economic ruin, and human suffering.

The JSEMA Executive Secretary implored Nigerians to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration sufficient time to address the grievances of affected citizens. He emphasized that protests would only hinder progress and set the country back, rather than propelling it forward.

Mairiga advocated for constructive dialogue and cooperation, urging Nigerians to allow the administration the necessary time to implement effective solutions.
