    Jigawa Govt’ Empowers Youths In Business, Spends Over N300 Million As Seed

    In a bold move to tackle youth unemployment and foster economic growth, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has launched a transformative empowerment program, distributing kiosks to 300 youth under the state’s Micro Retailers Empowerment Initiative. 

    The initiative, aimed at reducing redundancy and increasing productivity among the youth, is part of the state government’s broader efforts to uplift its citizens.  

    The beneficiaries, carefully selected from the 287 political wards across the state, have been equipped with resources and training to launch and manage their businesses.

    This initiative, supervised by the Agency of Youth Employment and Empowerment under the leadership of Habibi Ubale, underscores the administration’s commitment to empowering the youth and supporting small-scale entrepreneurs.  

    “All the youth here have been trained in conducting transactions using POS systems, as well as in the skills of buying and selling” Habib stated.

    Speaking at the launch, Governor Namadi emphasized that the program aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transformative agenda to empower youth and boost economic activities nationwide. 

    “This youth empowerment initiative will significantly boost the economic well-being of the state, helping individuals to support themselves, their families, and society at large”Namadi stated.

    The state government has allocated over 300 million naira as seed capital for this initiative, demonstrating its dedication to ensuring the success of these young entrepreneurs. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, highlighting how the support will enable them to become financially independent and contribute to their communities.  

    “We hope this will be a great startup business that will not only benefit me but also positively impact people at large”

    “We have heard that Dangote started from a small business, and we aspire to be the next Dangote”

    “We will do our very best to sustain this business, and we hope to one day empower others as well” Says Umar Muhammad. 

    This empowerment program is expected to not only improve the livelihoods of participants but also stimulate economic growth across Jigawa State, setting a benchmark for other regions to emulate.

    N59.4 Billion Greater Dutse Water Supply Project Takes Off in Jigawa State

    The Federal Government of Nigeria has on Thursday flagged off the Greater Dutse Water Supply Project worth N59.4 billion at Siltilmawa Village in Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

    The water project is aimed at providing adequate and clean water to the residents of Dutse, the State capital.

    The project, that was conceived 24 years ago, is being actualized by the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has funded the project to provide basic necessities of life to the people of Jigawa State.

    Speaking at the Project site, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph Utseve said the project will be completed within 24 months and will provide 10 million liters of water.

    He said the project which will be executed by Jidadu Ventures Limited includes the construction of a 10,000 meters-based concrete reservoir and housing quarters.

    Also the State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi has commended the high-level commitment of the federal government in fulfilling the promise made by President Tinubu during his campaign visit to the late Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Mohammadu Sanusi in 2023.

    Adding that the project is expected to bring significant development to the state and put an end to the perennial water scarcity that has been incessant to the residents of Dutse and environs.

    In his speech, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi ensured that the Emirate has pledged to assist in all it’s capacity to make sure the Project is moving well as expected.

    Saying, how he wish his late father, Nuhu Mohammadu Sanusi was alive to witness the actualization of the project which was his long term dream.
