The Jigawa State Police Command have rescued an 80-year-old woman who was kidnapped from Kano State, killed 5 and arrest 5 kidnappers in the state.
The kidnappers, who were said to be armed and riding motorcycles, had taken the victim from her home in Minjibir Local Government Area of Kano State. However, thanks to the swift action of the police and local security agencies, the victim was rescued unhurt and reunited with her family.
During the operation, the police neutralized five suspected kidnappers and arrested five others, including the kingpin of the gang. The police also recovered two AK-47 rifles, one Multipurpose Machine Gun, 14 live ammunition, and other exhibits.
The Commissioner of Police CP A.T. Abdullahi commended the officers and men of the Gumel and Ringim Area Commands for their bravery and diligence in the operation. He also appreciated the members of vigilantes, hunters, and Yan Bulala for their assistance and collaboration.
The police command has charged some of the suspects to court, while others are assisting in investigations. The operation is a testament to the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property in Jigawa State.
